Dinesh Agrawal, is a consummate professional, with vast experience and expertise in Corporate Sustainability including formulating policies & guidelines, surveys, assessments and impact evaluation of social and environmental aspects. He is proficient in planning, execution, monitoring and resource balancing for projects and worked with system approach while addressing sustainability issues. His creativity is reflected in introducing the concept of Ecological Monitoring through satellite imagery, geo-hydrological studies and socio economic survey.
He is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and undergone Leadership Programme at IIM, Lucknow, LEAD International, UK and ICH, Norway.
Dinesh is a former Consulting Advisor with CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development and Former General Manager and national head (R&R, CSR, Sustainability), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).
Dinesh’s career spans more than 39 of experience with NTPC Ltd, in diverse area like Sustainability, Business Excellence, Corporate Social Responsibility, Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation & Resettlement, Environment Management and Operation and Maintenance.
⦁ Leader in preparing sustainability reports in compliance with Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines covering more than 22 units of NTPC over 3 years.
⦁ Conducted business excellence audits for operating stations
⦁ Leader in Need Assessment Survey, CSR plans and Social Impact Evaluation for NTPC Corporate and 22 operating stations,
⦁ Conducted socio-economic surveys and formulated Rehabilitation &Resttlement Action Plans
⦁ Conducted Environmental Impact Assessment for obtaining environmental clearances.
⦁ Team lead in sustainability assessment for Indian Industries by CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainability Assessment for Indian Industries – for Oil & Gas Sector.
⦁ As member of expert committee/ drafting committee, he took the lead as system thinker, in formulation of various policies and guidelines like – Standard on “Social Accountability at Work Place” & “Guidance on Good Governance” for Bureau of Indian Standard, “National Voluntary Guidelines on Economic, Social and Environmental Responsibilities of Business” (now known as National Guideline on Responsible Business Conduct (NGRBC)) for Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, under aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India,
